Your Loving Son, Father and Grandfather

This painting serves as a visual narrative of my grandfather’s time as a soldier during WWII.
I incorporated depictions of black and white photos of him as a soldier, a letter sent on VJ-Day to his mother, and a portrait of what he looked like shortly before he died.
The photos below show the evolution of this painting from a figure study, to the finished product.
